Preschool Screen
Each year, Coventry holds a Town-wide early childhood Screen for children that are age 3 or 4. An early childhood screen serves as the first step in a prevention and intervention process that is intended to help children achieve their potential. Just like you bring your child each year to a pediatrician who screens their physical well-being, the preschool screen is an opportunity for your child to be screened for thinking skills, motor skills, speech and hearing. Knowing the health and development of your child is the first step to successful learning. The developmental, hearing and vision, speech and language screens are performed by staff members from the Coventry Early Intervention Services team of the Coventry Public School System. The Screen is free for Coventry residents. This year the Screen is scheduled for: November 19 from 9-12 pm and 3:30-6:30 PM. Please contact CECC at 860-742-4550 to make your appointment.

Preschool Spaces still available!
Are you the parent of a three or four year old child that you would like to send to preschool? There are spaces still available! The Coventry Early Childhood Center, a NAEYC accredited preschool, still has several spaces in the ½ day program and in the school day program (6 hours). There is generous financial assistance available to families who qualify because Coventry is a recipient of two State Grants to support quality early childhood education. Also, in case you were not aware, CECC moved out of the 1st Congregational Church, where it had been located for more than 40 years this past spring and was relocated into the rear wing of the Capt. Nathan Hale Middle School. The new facility is gorgeous and will provide the young children of Coventry with exceptional learning experiences. Please call the preschool at 860-742-4550 for more information and to see if you qualify.
